Η θυελλώδης ζωή της ηγερίας του κινήματος Art-Deco στον εικοστό αιώνα Tamara de Lempicka

 Η Ταμάρα Λέμπικα (Tamara de Łempicka) (γεννήθηκε ως Μαρία Γκόρσκα - Maria Górska) (16 Μαΐου 1898 – 18 Μαρτίου 1980), επίσης γνωστή ως η Tamara de Lempicka, ήταν Πολωνή ζωγράφος ενεργή στη δεκαετία του 1920 και του 1930, η οποία πέρασε την επαγγελματική της ζωή στη Γαλλία και τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες. Είναι ιδιαίτερα γνωστή για τα πορτρέτα αριστοκρατών και πλουσίων σε στιλ Art-Deco και για τους εξαιρετικά στυλιζαρισμένους πίνακες ζωγραφικής με γυμνά.

Enter a young refugee from Russia, a modern woman, a larger-than-life character, a libertine and social climber destined to make her mark.

Her paintings, Cubist inspired, will combine the traditions of Ingres and Caravaggio with lavish decoration and the style and sophistication of her sitters. This artist, who named herself Tamara de Lempicka, will epitomise the glamourous era of Art Deco during the 1920’3 and 1930’s. Born in Warsaw in 1898 as Tamara Rozalia Gurwik-Gorska , Tamara de Lempicka painted her most famous work, Autoportrait - Girl in the Green Bugatti in 1927. She died in Mexico in 1980.
