 DEMOCRACY

Democracy will not come
Today, this year
Nor ever
Through compromise and fear. 

Η δημοκρατία δεν θα έρθει
Σήμερα, αυτή τη χρονιά
Ούτε ποτέ
Μέσω του συμβιβασμού και του φόβου.

I have as much right
As the other fellow has
To stand
On my two feet
And own the land.

 Έχω τόσα  δικαιώματα
Όσα έχει και ο σύντροφός μου
Να στέκομαι
Στα δύο μου πόδια
Και να κατέχω τη  δική μου γη.

I tire so of hearing people say,
Let things take their course.
Tomorrow is another day.
I do not need my freedom when I'm dead.
I cannot live on tomorrow's bread.
 

Πόσο κουραστικό είναι όταν ακούω τους ανθρώπους να λένε,
Αφήστε τα πράγματα να πάρουν την πορεία τους.
Αύριο είναι μια άλλη μέρα.
Δεν χρειάζομαι την ελευθερία μου όταν θα  είμαι νεκρός.
Δεν μπορώ να ζήσω με το αυριανό ψωμί.
 

Freedom
Is a strong seed
Planted

In a great need.

Η  Ελευθερία
Είναι ένας δυνατός  σπόρος
Σπαρμένος

Στη μεγάλη ανάγκη.

 I live here, too.
I want freedom
Just as you.

Ζω επίσης εδώ

Θέλω την Ελευθερία

Όπως ακριβώς  κι εσύ.
