Baroque composers loved to enrich their music with borrowings from popular repertoires. The Italians, in particular, excelled at this game, using such themes as the basis for lively and energetic improvisations. Following their example, L’Achéron Ensemble offers a unique concert performing pieces from the Renaissance and the Baroque era as if they were a jazz big band!
