The Rascher Saxophone Quartet

The quartet was founded in the United States in 1969 by prominent classical saxophonist Sigurd Raschèr and his daughter, Karina (Karin). Some years later the quartet relocated to Germany and has been based there ever since.

Composers who have written for the group include : Luciano Berio, Philip Glass, Dimitri Terzakis, Iannis Xenakis, Urbanner, John Worley.

This Concerto was first performed by the Rascher Quartet in July 1995 at the Schleswig Holstein Festival in Hasselburg, Germany.
