Attention, Art Collectors: Here Is the Definitive Calendar of International Art Fairs for 2018
Caroline Goldstein,
With the explosion of art fairs around the world, there’s
only one way for the most enterprising collectors to navigate the year:
strategize, strategize, strategize. To help, we’ve compiled a list of
the most significant art fairs around the world, from New York to New
Delhi.
In March, all eyes will be on the marquee Armory Show, now under new director Nicole Berry. This year the main events of Armory Week take place over the course of two weeks—the Armory Show having opted to buck tradition and open the first full week of March.
Another scheduling snafu led to tensions between Art Cologne and Art Brussels, which will vie for collectors come April. Meanwhile, TEFAF Maastricht added a full day for their VVIPs, following complaints from well-heeled guests last year.
All this illustrates how slippery the art fair calendar is. Since many fairs still have details that are coming together, we’ll update this calendar here as the year goes on.
