Η μνημειώδης εκδήλωση  καταγράφηκε ζωντανά το 1983 , όταν ο Krystian Zimerman ήταν 27 και ο L. Bernstein ήταν 65 ετών.

This performance was recorded live in 1983 when Krystian Zimerman was 27 and L. Bernstein was 65. And they played both concertos on the same night. What a stamina! You rarely come across this program these days. It took so much out of the soloist. And 33 years later, this is still the pinnacle of Brahms' concertos performance. The balance between technical perfection (not one note missed or blurred) and the profound musicality from both masters are just too phenomenal for words. This and the Chopin Ballades is why I fall in love so hard for Zimerman.
