'The Little White Boat' is a composition by New York-based composer Chow Jun Yi and arranged by Huang Peh Linde for The TENG Ensemble. The piece draws inspiration from the Singapore River and is based on two exceptionally popular children's songs in Singapore. The first is The More We Get Together, a British folk song. The second is Little White Boat, a Korean children’s song. Both pieces gained rapid popularity in Singapore and were commonly heard during our childhood years, reminding us of our younger days. 'The Little White Boat' puts these two pieces together in an unconventional format, fusing Eastern and Western elements as well as merging traditional and contemporary styles. This piece is part of the 'Temasek Heritage Series', which comprises original work created by The TENG Ensemble and is supported by Temasek.
