Put the blame on mame | Το θρυλικό τραγούδι της Τζίλντα...

Δεν έχει πολύ καιρό που ο μικροαπατεώνας και επαγγελματίας χαρτοπαίκτης Τζόνι Φάρελ έφτασε στο Μπουένος Άιρες και σύντομα κατάφερε να γίνει το δεξί χέρι ενός ιδιοκτήτη παράνομου καζίνο, του Μπέιλιν Μάντσον. Κι ενώ όλα κυλούν ομαλά, τα πάντα ανατρέπονται όταν ο Μάντσον επιστρέφει από ένα ταξίδι μαζί με τη γυναίκα του, τη γοητευτική Γκίλντα. 

.Ο Μαντσον, μη γνωρίζοντας τον παλιό τους έρωτα, αναθέτει στον Τζόνι να προσέχει αν η Τζίλντα είναι πιστή σύζυγος.
Η Τζίλντα κάθε άλλο παρά πιστή είναι και αυτό θυμίζει στον Τζόνι πώς έμαθε να τη μισεί. Εκείνη συνεχίζει να τον προκαλεί και να προσπαθεί να τον κάνει να ζηλέψει, μέχρι οι καταστάσεις να του επιτρέψουν να πάρει την εκδίκηση του. Όμως ακόμα και τότε τα πράγματα δεν θα εξελιχθούν όπως θα τα περίμενε. 

Ταινία-θρίλερ που τα συνδυάζει όλα: ατμόσφαιρα μυστηρίου, βιομηχανική κατασκοπεία σε  αστυνομικό φόντο  , ένα φλογερό έρωτα που εξελίσσεται σε σχέση αβυσσαλέου μίσους, δυνατούς  χαρακτήρες,θαυμάσιες ερμηνείες . 

Η τανία-θρύλος βασίζεται στην  εκρηκτική Ρίτα Χέιγουοθ , μια γυναίκα-πειρασμό, που εκπέμπει απέραντο αισθησιασμό και μαγνητίζει τους πάντες. Η ερμηνεία της στο τραγούδι Put the Blame on Mame διαχρονικό σήμα κατατεθέν της γυναίκας που φλέγεται από έναν έρωτα χωρίς ανταπόκριση.
