Linda Ridd Herzog’s was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up in Utah, you find yourself surrounded by the beautiful aspects of nature. Spending a lot of time outdoors, Linda became very intrigued in animals and insects. She was drawing animals at an early age. Her first painting was at 9 years old.  Her interest in the outdoors has guided much of her art over her career. Moving to California had a big influence on her style of art.Receiving inspiration from the ocean, she begin painting marine life. With the support of her parents, Linda took art classes with her mother and grandmother and high school classes as well. Although she took classes, she never had any formal training.  Linda is mostly a self-taught painter, who uses a unique style in her art. She combines an intense realism in the presentation of her wildlife with the fantastical qualities of Surrealism. Linda likes to refer to her painting as "Wildlife Fantasy". After painting a mural on her son’s bedroom wall full of his favorite things from dinosaurs, cartoon characters, to computer game scenes, all within a connecting landscape, her desire to paint fantasy surfaced.

Linda has had her painting displayed in California, New York, Chicago, Tokyo, and Maui. The movie "Dragonfly" starring Kevin Costner, also featured some of Linda's paintings in the film.
